Entry from: Bariloche (San Carlos de Bariloche), Argentina Entry Title: “Lovely Summer Days in Bariloche” Entry: “Last night´s impression of Bariloche as being an interesting place have been totally confirmed during the last four days here. It is one of Argentina´s premier summer and winter resorts since it is set in the Lake District and surrounded by high mountains which makes for an incredible setting. Cerro Catedral, which is 25 km away, is Argentina´s premier ski mountain and with this town next to it there is a lot to offer. June, July and August are actually the peak winter months for tourism. The town itself has a mountain motif with aspects of Switzerland and the word “Suiza” is seen on everything around here and to further associate–chocolate is absolutely king here with an endless number of stores selling great chocolate. In talking with a lot of travelers who one sees at various places, they all say “this would be a great place to live”. Que hacer? What to do? Wednesday, March 1 The route that was suggested by the tourist office was the “Circuito Chico”. So off I was to the local bus 11 stop where I ran into the stock broker from Boston and the young couple for Genoa, Italy.
