It was on the Howard Stern replay again this? morning. I heard it on Sirius Deep Tracks this past weekend as well…can’t get it out of my head!
I wonder how many got into the Moody Blues since? Howard Stern mentioned them yesterday… I know I did!
5? people are terribly wrong….this is a brilliant song…..brilliant.
@sumtymzwhy I was going to try to write something clever & insighful about this song and their Classic 7 albums, but I can’t put it any? better than you did here. I hear you, and I hear them. Sometimes we forget it all in our day-to-day life but it’s nice to get re-grounded periodically…courtesy of a good dose of the Moodies
what is that? at 1:23?
@browncoats4ever
“That beeping tone you hear literally orbits your? head lol.” Yes it did…well put my friend…well put.
Yea…this song made you travel alright. Now if I could only remember half the stuff I saw? in my head while lying on my bed in the dark, with headphones on….
Amazing tune indeed.
this song… Yuma desert, walkman, sunsets, just cactus, and sleepy marines, my time alone to meditate on the reality,? yes that was me in the deepest part of the berry m Goldwater air force range after a long days work.Thank you Moody Blues for the awaking.
This song was the theme song opening to the Leon Lewis Radio? Show on WMCA Radio NYC in the late 60′s and early 70′s.
@AIKevorkian yea its a mellotron at 1:04 he turns? the dial and gets that pitch dropping portamento
Ahhh…The Moody Blues; or as my British ex used to call them “The Bloody Muse”. I always? thought this song was way too short!
Mikes understanding of the nature of physics, meta, and quantum, the properties of energy, its behaviors, manipulating them, and they us… I’d propose the word “genius, yet something more than calculation, that transcends the boundaries of logic, describes his gifts. He’s coming from the place where 1+1 is always one, and the time is always “now”. His finely tuned center of balance allows him to act? as a threshold, through which light shines through. ; )
A psycho-acoustics demonstration by Michael Pinder in 1968. I perceive more than mere stereo panning going on. After? dry sound pans hard left to right, and perhaps a bit of doppler shift as reverb levels increase and volume decrease. The brains calculations strongly suggest that something just flew directly towards you, turned 180 degrees very close, and flew back in the direction it came from. At the least vol, and highest verb, a hard pan back, vol. – rev. levels reverse as it returns.
@jhillst I think it is the Mellotron,? but I don’t really know.
David Icke before David Icke.?
@browncoats4ever Definitly, LPs like that one was a real trip and the resason why our generation can enjoy a lot of the new cosmic conspirancies without believing many of them but have a good time just listening to fine music since we’ve already done the trips we dream of. Well, this musical video clip is quite a fantastic revelation as you suggest with all those simple sound effects to blow our heads to the universe, thinking is the best way to travel! The Moody Blues & it’s? own magic tarpet!
Although I clicked “Like” up top, it is incorrect. I love it, and have since the first day I? heard it a long, long time ago.
Has to be listened to? stoned.
OUTSTANDING!
5X5 Thumb’s? UP!!
~Matt~
got to listen with? headphones to really appreciate this…. :}
I absolutely love the dip in this song!! Very hypnotizing to your soul!! This song is amazing!!! The Moodies are a truly phenomenal band of all time!! Their music is so full of real emotion and feeling! They are a real gem? to the music world. Pure magic for the soul!! Their music has always touched my soul through the years and truly impacted my life on so many levels! Pure perfection and brilliance!! The Moodies forever my friends!! ??
It’s cheaper,? too.
This song changed my life in many ways. It brought everlasting pleasure to my life,? and fueled my craving for the moodies blues.
What’s making the beeping sound in this song? Is it? Ray’s flute?
What truly amazes me? is how insightful this song is. He’s right, you know, “Thinking IS The Best Way To Travel”… who needs drugs with this? Listen to the lyrics and realize the cutting edge science he was writing about. Some might have thought Mike to be “out there” but he was just really “tuned in”.
